THE ATELIER

Dominique Jardy

In Rio de Janeiro since 1985, the French painter Dominique Jardy graduated in decorative painting (gold medal 1977) from the well-known Van der Kelen school of Brussels. Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work with internationally renowned designers (the English Geoffrey Bennison, the Italian Emilio Carcano) and for prestigious clients (Rudolf Nureyev, Marie Helene de Rothschild, Princess Fyrial of Jordan, Jun Ashida) around the world (New York, Morocco, Italy, Japan, Spain, Argentina).

When she arrived in Brazil, Dominique enthusiastically discovered the generous nature of this country, its tropical colors and the variety of its fauna and flora. These elements now inspire her paintings in which she blends French tradition and Italian fantasy.

You will find paintings by Dominique in many private residences, restaurants and shops, as well as in hotels like the Marriott and the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, the Club Med, the Embassy of Brazil in Prague, among many others.

Dominique paints on canvas in her studio in Rio de Janeiro and always draws her inspiration from nature. She works on various media (canvas, wood, walls, floors, ceilings, etc.) and uses different techniques (oil painting, natural pigments, gold, etc.)
